My Did You Ever Poem About Camp MERC

Camp MERC Certificate.

Reflection

At camp MERC we did lots of activities. For example, Sailing, Giants Ladder, Abseiling etc. I am proud of the Giants Ladder, because I was really scared when I got to the middle part, but I kept going and I acctually made it to the top! I think the funnest activitie for me to do was sailing, cause we got to go in the water, and I have never been sailing before. 

Constructing Shapes.

Reflection

We were learning to construct shapes. I think the trickiest shape to make was the five-sided shape with one right angle and one pair of parallel sides. The easiest shape to make was the four-sided shape with two pairs of parallel sides, for equal sides and no right angles. I think we did really good on this task.

Reflection

We chose this person because he inspired us to write about his childhood, how he became famous and what he did to help South Africa. It was hard to find facts about him. I think we did well.

My Art.

Reflection

I was learning to mix primary colors and use black and white to tint and shade. I also learnt to make templates of kiwiana and use these to make a abstract picture. I found it easy to draw the shapes. I found it tricky to paint in the lines. I am proud of the colors I chose.  

My Did You Ever Poem.

Reflection

This was a little tricky to do because, I couldn't think of anything to write my poem about. I think that I did well on my Did you ever poem. Next time I should add more interesting nouns and verbs to go with it. 

Dividing A Cake.

Reflection

I think that I did well on this problem. At the starting it was a little tricky but then it got a little easier. Next time I should find out what the answer is for the whole cake and divide it by 3. 

Robinson Crusoe Vs Kensuke's Kingdom Comparison

Reflection

I think that Georgia, Hailley and I did well on our RC vs KK comparison. The hardest thing to do was the Differences between RC and KK. The easiest thing to do was the similarities. Next time I think that we should try and put more then 5 differences and similarities.

We were learning to relate to characters. I think that I did good questions and Silva and Cindy did good responses. I am proud of question 2 because I like how I asked them a question that would make them have to think about it.

The Meaning Of Idioms.

Reflection

We were learning to find the meanings of idioms. I found some of the idioms easy. Most of the idioms were hard to find the meaning of them. Next time I think that I should think more about the idioms so I can try and figure out what it means.

Reflection

I was learning to use our inference skills. I had to use information from Kensuke's Kingdom to write my poster. I found it easy to write down the information about Michael. I found it tricky to draw the picture of him.

I think that Georgia and I did well on our task.  I think that next time we should think more about the words and read the sentences more closely to see if we can think of what it means.

I think that we all done well in our Investigation. Next time we need to think about more questions to answer or more things to say in our conclusion. We all had fun doing our Filtration investigation.

Reflection

What we are doing in this photo is touching the soil to feel how it is. We had 3 trays full of different types of soils and the 3 types of soils were, sand, clay and silt. I think that we did a great job on this activity for inquiry. We had lot's of fun with the soil.

My Basic Facts Progress.

Term 1 Reflection

At the start of the year I started low and I dropped down because of the school holidays. What I need to improve in my basic facts, are my division and changing the unknown. I need to practice on Mathletics so I can get better and faster. By the end of this term I am going to try get up to 70 or 80 in my scores.

Term 2 Reflection

This term I have reached my goal which was 70 and my highest score now is 77. I have been getting better in my times tables. This is because I have been practising them at home and going on Mathletics. I still need to work on changing the unknown this term. My goal for this term is to reach 80.

Term 3 Reflection

This term I have gone down, and my highest score is still 77. I have improved changing the unknown, because I go on Mathletics at home. Now I need to work on my division. My goal for this term is to reach 90 or 100. To do this I need to practice my division, and go on Mathletics.

The activitys that we done at Youth Town were 3 Step Dodge Ball and Capture The Flag. We all had fun at Youth Town, and we got to learn some new games that we could play in our own time. We all contributed which was really good.

I think that I did well on my Mathletics activity for homework. It was a good idea to do this task, because it helps us to do Mathletics, when we don't have time. What I was doing in this photo, I was doing estimating.
